Research QuickStart

Note: This page will be replaced May 2019 with a redesigned Quick Start.  The new Quick Start uses a simpler and more intuitive navigation to address common questions with the research process and using the library, and integrates with our Research Now! curriculum.
Please see and let us know what you think!

This guide provides very brief guidance on common questions and needs in the research process.

Research Now! provides help and instruction for developing research skills – from developing a research question, to understanding how information is created and used, to finding and evaluating resources critically and responsibly.

Getting Started

Research Guides are arranged by academic departments and programs and are put together by Subject Specialists. These guides integrate subject-based Internet resources, instructional guidance, and the Library's electronic resources.

These guides are a great place to start when finding information on your subject.

Off Campus Access

So long as you have a NetID and password, off-campus access requires no special instructions.

When you try to access a UConn-only resource (such as a research database), you will be prompted to log in using your NetID/password.  Once you've logged in, you can open other UConn-only resources without having to login again.
