Pharmacy Subject Guide — Finding Journal Articles

Finding Articles Introduction

Peer-reviewed health sciences journal articles can be found in a variety of places: in databases available through the library, on a publisher's website, or on Google Scholar. PubMed and Embase are great places to start looking for biomedical research, or you can look in a more specialized database.

PICO is a topic brainstorming method that can help you think through a well-designed clinical research question. This presentation can help you to construct database searches.

Use search.lib.uconn.edu to search all of UConn Library's subscriptions by author, keyword, or title.

Use Journal Search to search UConn Library's holdings when you know the title of the journal you would like to search.
