Developing an Economic Development Strategic Plan

The Town of Farmington biannually updates their economic development strategic plan. Farmington’s consultant THE PERT GROUP conducted a survey for its residents on their thoughts and ideas for the town’s current condition. The results of the survey were used to help plan the new economic development strategic plan. Furthermore, Farmington’s Economic Development Department implemented a business planning workshop with Journey Communications. This workshop allowed Farmington to clarify their ideas and break them down into a five-year vision, a one-year strategy and a 90-day action plan.  Click here to read more about the Town of Farmington’sEconomic Development Strategic Plan.

“Completing the best practice program was a wonderful exercise for the Farmington development team. It allowed us to recognize processes and regulations that were  working well, as well as identify areas that needed further evaluation and updates. Two years later, the development team continues to explore practices and processes designed to encourage business retention, expansion, and attraction, while  engaging our community to assure that Farmington is a great place to live, work, play and prosper.”
Rose Ponte, Economic Development Director
