The leisure reading room on Level B of Homer Babbidge Library is home to the Liberated Zine Zone, a startup collection of zines created by UConn students and zine creators from around the globe. In conjunction with the library's Maker Studio, we are encouraging patrons to make zines using the zine kits to contribute to this growing collection. If you would like to submit a zine to the Liberated Zine Zone, either drop a copy off in the donate box or send a pdf scan to Rhonda Kauffman.
The UConn Archives & Special Collections, located at the Dodd Center for Human Rights, has a wide range of zines available for reading and research. This collection relates to the underground publishing culture of the Alternative Press and contains titles on various topics, political identities, and subcultures predominantly from the late 20th century to the present, as demonstrated in the video below.
