Google Scholar provides a simple way to search scholarly literature. It includes most types of literature including articles, book chapter, dissertations, reports, conference proceedings, and patents. It searches many locations at once, including repositories. Google Scholar provides citations for publications and also a count of how many citations a publication has received from others. Note however t hat Google Scholar includes citing sources that are not usually included in traditional PTR reviews, such as dissertations, patents, government reports, and teaching materials.
Google Scholar Citations provide a simple way for authors to keep track of citations to their articles. You can check who is citing your publications, graph citations over time, and compute several citation metrics. You can also make your profile public, so that it may appear in Google Scholar results when people search for your name.
Sign up for a Public Google Scholar Citations Profile.
Step 1. Sign into your Google account, or create one if you don't yet have one.
