- Begin your search with the Library Catalog
- Keep in mind that books/book chapters are helpful in gaining background on a topic
- Enclose your terms (more than one) in quotes to retrieve results more precisely, for example: "central bank" "developing countries"
- Find terms that define your topic instead of writing a sentence
- Refine results by using the left hand panel, to limit by Resource Type (book chapters, books, etc.
- Once you find related items, scrutinize the record and identify "subject headings" which will be a more focused way of searching

- If books are online, follow the link note on the record
- Books that appear to be at Homer Babbidge or other UConn campus libraries may be requested. Books typically arrive in 2-3 days.
- Book chapters can be requested from other libraries and are scanned and emailed to to your UConn ILLiad account (Interlibrary Loan Services)
