New Library Electronic Resources FY2021 — Scholarly eBooks - EBA/DDA

Online access to over 15,000 scholarly ebooks from Cambridge University Press, including all subject areas and publication dates from 2015 through 2022. This EBA program enables us to use our entire prepayment to purchase titles of our choice in perpetuity each year. In addition to revitalizing collection development, this program enables us to spend that much less from subject funds. Access runs through June 30, 2022.

Term-limited online access to more than 60,000 ebooks from dozens of scholarly publishers and hosted on JSTOR. We are running EBA and DDA programs with JSTOR that give us access to most of JSTOR's ebook backlist and frontlist, covering all humanities and social sciences subjects and all publication dates from 1925 through 2022. The EBA program enables us to use the entire prepayment to purchase titles of our choice in perpetuity at a 50% discount, while the DDA program enables autopurchase of titles once patrons have viewed or downloaded 5 or more chapters for a given title. In addition to revitalizing collection development, these programs enable us to spend that much less from subject funds. Access to EBA and DDA titles runs through at least June 30, 2022, and we anticipate renewing the programs routinely thereafter.

Online access to more than 11,500 scholarly ebooks on the Project Muse platform, including all subject areas and publication dates from 1925-2022. This EBA program enables us to use our entire prepayment to purchase titles of our choice in perpetuity each year. In addition to revitalizing collection development, this program enables us to spend that much less from subject funds. Access to EBA titles runs through June 30, 2022.

Online access to the Springer ebooks frontlist (2019-2021) in the subjects of Biomedical and Life Science, Chemistry and Materials Science, Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics and Statistics. Renewing the Springer EBA program grants one year of access to 9000 ebooks and enables us to use the entire prepayment to purchase titles of our choice in perpetuity at a discounted price in 2022. This EBA program enables us to spend that much less from subject funds and to gain access to the latest Lecture Notes in Computer Science. Access to EBA titles runs through September 30, 2022.

New for FY2022, this DDA pilot program with ProQuest will enable us to open up access to a wider ebook corpus from publishers that are not available via JSTOR or other EBA/DDA programs. This will also expand the range of resource types available to us, e.g., fiction. The program parameters will be developed over Summer 2021 in time for a Fall launch.
