Off-Campus and Commuter Students Guide: Researching the 1990s!

Connect Research to Your Interests

Does the notion of doing research often sound unappealing? While students are regularly required to do some kind of research project for their classes, it is not always focused on topics that fit their particular interests. However, we encourage students to always consider finding ways to link the things they are knowledgeable in and passionate about to research, whenever it is appropriate. This helps you to hone your research and analysis skills on topics that you really are excited about! And you may not be aware of all of the ways things you are interested in are being researched in the academic world. Since the theme for this semester's housing fair is the 1990s, we thought it would be fun to show you some examples of research focused on pop culture from the decade that brought you grunge, Friends, and Crystal Pepsi! Check out some of the examples below, and be sure to reach out for research assistance through Ask a Librarian!
