Plant Science Subject Guide — Useful Tools

Current Protocols in Biology

Authoratative, up to date resources for research methods, experimental best practices and topical overviews. We currently have access to three current protocols:

Pivot Access

All UConn faculty, staff and students have access to Pivot, the most comprehensive search engine for grant funding available on the web. Pivot has research funding federal, state, corporate, non-profit and foundation sponsors. Pivot also has a networking section which links the research interests of potential collaborators worldwide.

  • Create a Pivot Account using your UConn email address
  • Claim your profile (or create one if one does not exist)
  • Begin searching!

Pivot is funded by the UConn Libraries and the Office of the Vice President for Research.

Why Use Refworks?

RefWorks is a citation management tool. It is excellent to use when writing papers or manuscripts because it:

  • collects citations from databases into one place
  • deletes duplicate references
  • saves citations over times
  • allows note taking and PDF attachment of articles
  • creates bibliographies
  • creates in-text citations
  • includes hundreds of citations styles
