The University of Connecticut’s Archives & Special Collections holds many collections related to research topics that may be of interest to our local community members. This guide provides a curated selection of published materials, manuscript collections, and digitized materials that can serve as a starting point for your research into local history topics. It is not a comprehensive listing of all materials related to these topics held by the UConn Archives & Special Collections.
Check out our website for information to help you plan your visit, including parking, transportation, and dining options.

Archives & Special Collections (ASC) holds the UConn Library’s collection of rare and special books and other publications, the University Archives, and over 1,200 archival collections of primary sources and records of enduring value. Unlike a traditional library, ASC collections are non-circulating-- they can't be checked out. Instead, staff members retrieve materials for researchers and researchers use our materials in our reading room.
Anyone can conduct research here-- if we have materials of interest to you, please be in touch! There are two ways to access materials from our collections: by placing a digitization request or by scheduling an n-person research visit to our reading room.
