NexisUni for news coverage on a public policy within a state

Use NexisUni News search to uncover news coverage of a policy issue within a state. Includes text only (no photos, figures); coverage of news sources can go as far back as 30+ years. 

Search tips:

  • search for general stories about a public policy issue, about a specific bill or legislator, a specific event, etc.
  • use synonyms in your search, connected with OR, to get the best results, e.g. school finance OR school funding OR education funding
  • to the left of search results, use the Location by Publication filter (circled in screen capture below) to limit results to your state
  • Use the Timeline filter to filter stories by date or change the Sort By setting at the top of the page from Relevance to Date: newest to oldest
